Our video games are almost done and it is testing time. One strategy that is very effective is to have other people play it – as the programmer you will usually be fairly good, the question is how easy is it for someone else to play? Screencastify is a great way to get some video of the game action. This is a video of our game being played by someone who never saw the game. She was able to get to the start of level 3.
I didn’t record the second try but we did identify a bug: there is some key combination that will prevent the player sprite from moving while the root beers get served on the bar above. Currently there are checks for the individual keys – I may need to have one check.
